A lecturer at the prestigious University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) was apprehended in his office attempting to engage in s*xual activity with a student. The incident took place on Friday, April 19th, 2024, with the lecturer, identified as Professor Udoudom, allegedly found with his pants down in the midst of the act. Professor Udoudom serves as a lecturer in the School of General Studies department and holds the position of Head of the course ‘Nigerian People and Culture’ (GSP208), a mandatory course taken by over 45,000 students within the university community.
A report was made against Professor Udoudom to the management of the university regarding the illegal and immoral activities being carried out within campus. In breach of the trust the university and the society have for him, he was reported to continuously demand s*x for grades, and those who refuse to submit would not pass the course in one sitting. An act which has been continuously going on under the clean carpets of our dear institution was later brought to light when he tried to force s*xual intercourse on this particular student.

The student, who is a married woman accompanied by her husband, reported to the Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Edwin Omeje, regarding the advances and demands made by the lecturer for grades. The victim, who understood the sanctity of marriage, even opted to offer money in exchange for the s*x demanded by the lecturer, which he outrightly declined. The school security had already been alerted by the dean, who advised the lady to go ahead and play the bait to see if the fish would take the hook.
On this fateful day, the lecturer, who in his normal routine, was already in the office receiving students, invited the victim over, believing that the student was complying with his earlier demand. He removed his pants and was left with only boxer shorts when the authorities, comprising the school security, the dean, and the husband of the student, barged in unannounced. He was caught almost entirely naked, with his middle-aged stomach blooming with evidence of too much beer.

As of the time of filing this report, the school is yet to release an official statement regarding Professor Udoudom’s case, but according to reliable sources, disciplinary actions are currently in the pipeline. When a student breaks the rules, the parents receive the rusticated student at home; today, it is another lecturer who has refused to allow our learning environment to be free from evil and troubles. The school should use this case as another example for others to learn that education is a serious business, and merit should always be the basis for judging performance.
