In a significant announcement today, the Federal Government, led by President Bola Tinubu, has officially declared Wednesday, September 27, 2023, as a public holiday to commemorate the Eid-ul-Maulid celebration observed by Muslim faithful worldwide.

This announcement came through a statement released by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Oluwatoyin Akinlade, acting on behalf of the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo. The Minister extended his heartfelt congratulations to Muslims across the globe on the occasion of this year’s Eid-ul-Maulid celebration.

In a statement released on Monday, the Public Relations Officer of OAU, Abiodun Olanrewaju, revealed that the university administration had heeded the calls of the students and opted to revise the recently increased tuition fees. The Students Union had persistently advocated for a 50% reduction in fees, asserting that the initial charges were financially burdensome for many. The university management, however, defended the initial fee hike, emphasizing its necessity to sustain efficient operations.
