London Sword Attack Claims Live of 14 Years Nigerian Student

The Nigerian government has responded to the death of Daniel Anjorin, a 14-year-old boy who died during a sword attack in yesterday London, United Kingdom.

One suspect, Marcus Arduini Monzo, who is in police custody, attacked and stabbed the 14-year-old while he was in his school uniform, along with three other people, including two police officers, in Hainault on Tuesday, April 29.

The young British-Nigerian boy died in the hospital, and the others were seriously injured. The Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has expressed condolences to the family of Daniel Anjorin on his death.

In a statement signed by the commission’s head of media, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, it was described as a very “unfortunate, sad, and horrible” incident. The attack occurred on Tuesday morning during rush hour as people were rushing to take their children to school.

Police received reports around 7:00 am that a car had driven into a house on Thurlow Gardens, near Hainault Tube station in northeast London, and a person emerged from it and began stabbing people.Witnesses captured footage of a man wielding a samurai-style sword and shouting.

Five people were injured in the attack, including 14-year-old Daniel Anjorin, two men aged 33 and 35, and two police officers. Daniel was on his way to school when the suspect attacked him, and he suffered fatal stab wounds before later dying.

Aiste Dabasinskaite, a neighbor of Daniel who spoke to the Press Association (PA), said, “We were shouting and waving to Daniel as he came out. He had headphones on, so he couldn’t hear us. It just happened right before our eyes, it’s horrible.”

Another neighbor said they couldn’t sleep at night anymore “because all I see is the man standing there with the sword.” Videos spreading on social media show the man wielding the sword and entering people’s houses. Other footage shows police chasing a man as he runs into people’s gardens.

The Metropolitan Police have arrested 36-year-old Marcus Arduini Monzo in connection with the Hainault attack. He has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of causing grievous bodily harm, aggravated burglary, and possession of a bladed article.

Mr. Monzo appeared in court in London on Thursday, May 2, and the court ruled that he should remain in police custody until the next hearing. He is from Newham, East London, and appeared in court wearing a gray tracksuit, with his left arm across his chest.

He spoke slowly when he gave his name to the court. He will appear again at the Old Bailey on May 7 if a hearing is not available on Friday, said Chief Magistrate Paul Goldspring. Authorities say all the alleged offenses occurred in Laing Close, except for the offense of grievous bodily harm, which they allege took place in nearby Franklyn Gardens.

The court heard that Mr. Monzo crashed a van into a fence around 7:00 am BST on Tuesday, April 30, hitting a person. He got out of the van and said he would kill the man and cut his neck, the court heard. Prosecutor David Burns told the court that Mr. Monzo entered a nearby house where a couple was sleeping with their four-year-old daughter.

He allegedly entered the bedroom and attacked the child’s father, shouting that he believed in God as he injured him in the neck and arm, the court heard. The prosecutor accused Mr. Monzo of running up behind Daniel, who was walking to school, and attacking him before stabbing him in the chest as he lay on the ground.

The court heard that police officers arrived at the scene to try to help the teenager, but Monzo appeared from the bushes. Officers later chased him.The court heard that he jumped on a female officer and attacked her with the sword as she lay on the ground.

He is also accused of injuring another officer who suffered arm wounds. “He brought his family lots of joy” Flowers with a note saying ‘RIP little angel’ Daniel’s family says he was a wonderful child who was “well loved” and “hardworking.””No family should go through what we are experiencing,” they said. “Any family will understand that this is an absolute tragedy.”

Daniel Anjorin was a pupil at Bancroft’s School in Woodford Green. His school says Daniel was a “true scholar” with a “positive nature and gentle character.” In a statement, the school management described him as a “core member” of the community, adding that “losing such a young pupil is something we will always struggle to come to terms with.”

A fundraising page set up by a friend of Daniel’s brother on Wednesday, May 1, has already raised £25,000. Jubilee Church, where Daniel attended, has expressed its “immense sadness” at his “sudden and tragic death.”

Janti Charalambous, whose son attends Snaresbrook Prep School with Daniel, said, “Daniel was an amazing young man. “He was good at his studies. He was good at sports. He was someone many, many people loved and he came from a wonderful family.

“The family is in shock. Obviously, they are very heartbroken. He was a young boy, and he was taken away from his family.

“It’s sad that something like this happened to a family, to a community, like this. It’s heartbreaking.

Grace, a student at the University of Nottingham, and her friend Mr. Webber were walking to their student accommodation after a night out at the end of term when they were fatally stabbed on Ilkeston Road just after 4:00 am BST on June 13.

Meanwhile, in Hainault, police have lifted the cordons to seal the scene, and people have laid floral tributes there.
