Checking Your Results: A Simple Guide

For those eager to ascertain their performance, JAMB has provided straightforward steps to check the UTME results. Firstly, candidates need to visit the official JAMB result-checking portal at https://www.jamb.gov.ng/Efacility. Once on the portal, they should log in to their profile using their email address and password. After gaining access, clicking on the “Check UTME Results” link will prompt them to enter their registration number. Upon entering this information, clicking the “Check Result” button will initiate the result processing, displaying the outcome on the screen.

Alternatively, candidates can opt for the SMS option by sending UTMERESULT to 55019 or 66019 using the phone number registered for the exam.

Insights from the Results

The release of the results also brought to light some compelling statistics. Out of the total registered candidates, which numbered 1,904,109, 80,810 were notably absent from the examination. However, what caught attention was the revelation that 64,624 results are currently under investigation. These investigations cover a range of issues, including verification, procedural irregularities, and suspected exam misconduct. Impressively, the registrar noted a significant reduction in infractions compared to previous years, signaling an overall improvement in examination integrity.

In terms of performance, 8,401 candidates distinguished themselves by scoring 300 and above, while 77,070 candidates achieved a commendable score of 250 and above. This breakdown provides valuable insights into the academic landscape and serves as a testament to the hard work and dedication of these candidates.

Ensuring Credibility and Integrity

It’s worth noting that the delay in releasing the UTME results was a deliberate move by JAMB to meticulously scrutinize the outcomes. This thorough review aimed to uphold the credibility and integrity of the results, safeguarding against issues like impersonation, mixed biometrics, and other forms of malpractice. By taking these precautionary measures, JAMB reaffirms its commitment to fair and transparent evaluation processes, ensuring that every candidate’s efforts are duly recognized and rewarded.
