The Federal House of Assembly member representing Ikom/Boki Constituency, Hon. Victor Abang, is set to give educational grants to students of Ikom Boki Federal Constituency at the Nigerian Law School. This information was obtained from the leaders of the student body at the Nigerian Law School Enugu campus. According to the source, about 23 names of students from the above constituency have already been delivered to the office of the House member upon request.
This grant aims to cushion the hardship currently faced in the country and enable students to concentrate on their studies. Furthermore, the grants would alleviate the burden imposed by the sudden increment in school fees by the Nigerian Law School from N296,000 to N476,000, which has been financially burdensome for students of Ikom/Boki Constituency, especially given the prevailing economic challenges in the country. It’s also worth noting that students of the Nigerian Law School are not allowed to work throughout this one year of their studies, making it even more challenging.
It is out of compassion that the House member, Hon. Victor Abang, has extended his benevolent arms to accommodate his constituents at the Nigerian Law School, offering support to the education of aspiring lawyers. As a visionary leader, he has consistently come through for his people in times of need, serving and representing his constituents diligently. Recently, Hon. Victor Abang recently donated 1 million Naira each to traders who were victims of the Ikom Market fire incident and promised to attract the necessary agencies to fully come to their aid.
We would also recall that VOTP News on the 12th of October 2023 reported thatHon. Victor Abang advocated for the establishment of a Federal Medical Center in Boki Local Government area to provide accessible and affordable medical services to the people of Ikom/Boki Constituency.
Students of the Nigerian Law School are in anticipation, and some have expressed their thanks as they await the anticipated support in the coming weeks. From our part at VOTP News, we appreciate visionary leaders for their compassion for the masses, and Victor Abang has demonstrated such character. We say thank you.
