Governor Sanwo-Olu Takes Swift Action, Arrests Soldier for One-Way Traffic Violation
The Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State personally intervened to enforce traffic regulations on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway. The incident unfolded yesterday when the governor, in a viral video on social media, was seen directing armed policemen to arrest a soldier riding a motorcycle against traffic, commonly known as “One-Way.”
Governor Sanwo-Olu, who was reportedly on his way to the Lagos State University, Ojo, for the unveiling of the Femi Gbajabiamila Conference Centre, spotted several commercial motorcyclists violating traffic rules. The governor’s convoy halted, prompting these motorcyclists to hastily abandon their bikes and flee, along with their passengers, to evade arrest by the security personnel accompanying the governor.

Governor Sanwo-Olu then addressed the passengers on the soldier’s motorbike, expressing his concern about the dangers of such traffic violations. He emphasized the need for responsible behavior on the roads and warned of potential consequences for those disregarding traffic laws.
This incident comes amidst ongoing efforts by the Lagos State government to enforce a ban on commercial motorcycles (Okada) on certain routes.
