APC National Vice Chairman Resigns, Citing Interference and Illegal Acts-In a significant development within the All Progressives Congress (APC), the National Vice Chairman for North-West, Mallam Salihu Lukman, has officially tendered his resignation from his position. The resignation letter was submitted to the Acting National Chairman of the party, Senator Abubakar Kyari, on Wednesday.

Mallam Salihu Lukman’s decision to step down comes just one week after the party witnessed the resignations of the former National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, and the National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore. This series of resignations indicates a tumultuous period for the APC.

In his resignation letter, Mallam Lukman pointed out his concerns about alleged illegal activities and interference in the internal affairs of the party. He firmly stated that these actions were not aligned with the original vision of the party’s founding fathers. His decision to resign was motivated by a desire to avoid becoming a distraction while continuing his advocacy for change within the party.

He expressed hope that the party’s leadership, particularly President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, would reconsider any unjust and illegal actions, which he believes are vital for the party to maintain its claim as a democratic and progressive political entity.

Mallam Lukman acknowledged and thanked former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, for nominating him to serve in the crucial position of National Vice Chairman, North-West, and for the support he received throughout his tenure.

Despite his resignation from the leadership position, Mallam Salihu Lukman emphasized that he would remain a member of the APC and pledged to provide his support to the party in any way he can from the background.

The resignation of such a high-ranking party official adds further complexity to the internal dynamics of the APC and raises questions about the party’s future direction and unity. As the political landscape continues to evolve, all eyes will be on how the APC leadership responds to the resignations and addresses the concerns raised by Mallam Lukman and other departing members.
