In a shocking turn of events, the Ekiti State Police Command has apprehended 10 suspects linked to the tragic death of Modupe Deborah, a 200-level nursing student at the Federal University, Oye Ekiti. Deborah had been declared missing within the school premises on September 5, 2023.

The announcement was made by the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Abutu Sunday, via their official social media handle. It was revealed that Deborah’s lifeless body was discovered in a shallow grave, approximately 30 meters behind the nursing Lecture Hall.

Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, CP Ogundare Dare, has ordered a thorough investigation into this harrowing incident, pledging that the perpetrators of this heinous crime will face the full force of the law. While urging the public to remain calm, the commissioner emphasized the commitment of the police in uncovering the identity of the culprits.

In the meantime, the body of the deceased has been placed in the morgue for autopsy, while the 10 suspects are currently in custody, undergoing a comprehensive investigation.

Previously, the university management had announced the disappearance of Modupe Deborah and assured the community that investigations were underway. However, the latest developments reveal the tragic fate of the missing student.
